Refurbishment

This complex project involved the design and construction of blast-proof walls to the northern and southern elevations within the operating Maroubra Synagogue. During the security upgrade works, Belmadar also refurbished the front façade comprising new external walls, feature entry, paving and associated landscape works. In addition, decontamination works were undertaken, including removing the existing asbestos roof. The construction of the blast-proof walls comprised of piling eight metres in the sand within a limited headroom space, strip footings and a 250mm thick reinforced concrete wall.
