This new workplace project of over 17,000sqm for 370 staff and councillors delivered a modern open plan environment across three, four-storey buildings. The project created an inviting, fresh, new public face for the services to the Hills Shire community and a new council chamber and public areas. Sustainability was incorporated with photovoltaic collectors, daylight harvesting and LED lighting. In addition, water collection and reuse, recycled timber cladding, sun control and BMS linked systems to deliver a 5-star Green Star design and 5-star NABERS workplace. Works also included the construction of a bestowed feature reception, including a 23-meter Corian reception desk and a unique circular council chamber room likening to an amphitheatre with lotus doors.
