The grand opening of the Emanuel Synagogue Heritage Sanctuary saw over 400 distinguished guests, including the Governor of NSW, Margaret Beazley, the Premier of NSW, Chris Minns, Amir Maimon, Israel’s Ambassador to Australia, and Steven Kamper MP, Minister for Multiculturalism come together to celebrate the beautiful and historic sanctuary restored by Belmadar.
The heritage refurbishment features a new wraparound balcony, skylights and reoriented seats for better viewing of services.
"This synagogue and its 85 years of history shares a proud story as a place of worship, but also as a place of community, a place to celebrate and mourn, a place to grow and to educate children, a place for women to be empowered increasingly and a place to progress social justice causes." NSW Premier Chris Minns
Belmadar is honoured to be a part of this story by restoring the heritage sanctuary to its former splendour for future generations.
