The University of Sydney appointed Belmadar to refurbish the facade of the Edgeworth David Building. Situated at the University's main entrance on Parramatta Road, the restoration of the building's façade helps to ensure a memorable first impression for visitors entering the campus from the North. This challenging facade project involved the removal of over 900m2 of lead-based paint and hazardous material from the façade. Belmadar's experience in hazardous materials removal and relationship with Workcover enabled a successful program of works to be created for the paint removal while maintaining a safe and fluid working environment for students. Stakeholders deemed the design intent was successfully met, with the building restored to its former glory as a stand-out entry feature.
