The project won the overall Australian Timber Design Award, awarded to the top across all categories.

• 2021 Merits and the Overall Winner of 2021 Timber Design Award
• 2021 People's Choice Award "Excellence in Engineering."
• 2021 Commercial and Public Buildings Award

As the jury panel remarked, the timber was the hero of this project, and it shows how good a timber structure can be in a public space when appropriately handled.  We are tremendously proud to have constructed this project for Cumberland City Council. In addition, it is terrific for the project to have received industry recognition for being the first of its kind in Australia.
